Historical Note

Lt. Charles K. Howard served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. As a surgeon, he practiced primarily aboard the USS Monrovia. He was stationed in the Pacific Ocean near Kamaole and Maui, Hawaii. He had a wife, Mary, and two sons.

Scope and Content

The collection consists of correspondence, a diary, photographs, and other personal items collected during the war.
