Scope and Content

The collection consists of financial papers and correspondence of Paul Rapelye, a general merchant of Savannah, Georgia. Included are sales receipts, bills of lading, and invoices documenting purchases of textiles, several shipped from Liverpool, England, to Savannah, Georgia, aboard the ship Oglethorpe. Correspondence is mainly regarding trade, and two letters are from his cousin.
