Charles Colcock Jones Jr. (1831-1893), son of Rev. Charles Colcock Jones (1804-1863), was a historian, author, and Presbyterian minister.

Scope and Content

The collection consists of miscellaneous letters to Charles Colcock Jones, Jr. that were taken from books from Jones' library. Correspondents include William D. Reed, Henry Van Dyke, F. Parkman, R.W. Johnston, Charles Gayarre, and James Wood Davidson. Also included is a handwritten poem dated Augusta, Georgia, May 6, 1872, titled "Shadow land," signed "William H. Hayne."
