Scope and Content

The collection consists of a royal license signed by King George III, January 16, 1808, to James Maury, furnishing protection for a cotton shipment from Georgia to Liverpool on the ship "Georgia." The license also directs and requires commanders of ships of war and privateers not to molest or interrupt said vessel on its voyage.
