Biographical/historical note

The UGA College of Business Administration was the first state-chartered business school in the South and, over the years, has conferred more than 65,000 degrees. In 1991 the College was renamed in honor of alumnus Herman Terry and his wife, Mary Virginia. The history of the College of Business Administration, We did it our way... was written in 1984 by Dr. Howard "Ted" Smith in anticipation of UGA's 1985 Bicentennial. Dr. Smith was a professor of management in the UGA College of Business Administration from 1946 to 1983.
