Collection Description

Biographical/historical note

J. Thomas Bowen started his career with the University of Georgia in 1971 and worked there for 33 years until his retirement in March of 2004. He earned his doctoral degree in higher education from the University of Georgia while a staff member for the Vice President for Academic Affairs. Dr. Bowen's career included being the Associate Vice President in charge of campus space management and facilities planning. He also taught undergraduate and graduate management courses in the Institute of Higher Education at UGA.

Scope and Content

J. Thomas Bowen's records consists of documents relating to his long-time position as UGA Associate Vice President in charge of space management and facilities planning. This collection has Bowen's administrative correspondence and subject files, miscellaneous small project files and program review files from 1980 through 1999.
