Abstract: Author and entrepreneur Samuel Zamarripa is the first Hispanic American to serve in the Georgia State Senate. From 2003-2007, Zamarripa represented the 36th district, which includes parts of eastern Fulton County. He is currently CEO of Intent Solutions and chairman of Mundo Hispanico. In addition to his public service and business ventures, Zamarripa has written two novels published by Floricanto Press: The Spectacle of Let - The Oliet and Obit (2017) and The Spectacle of Let - the Soul of a Miracle (2018).

Biographical Note

Author and entrepreneur Samuel Zamarripa is the first Hispanic American to serve in the Georgia State Senate. From 2003-2007, Zamarripa represented the 36th district, which includes parts of eastern Fulton County. During his tenure he served on the Insurance and Labor Committee, the Science and Technology Committee, and the Transportation Committee, as well as serving as secretary of the State Economic Development Committee.

Currently, Zamarripa serves as the CEO and Director of Intent Solutions in Atlanta and chairman of the Mundo Hispanico media group. In addition to his public service and business ventures, Zamarripa has written two novels published by Floricanto Press: The Spectacle of Let - The Oliet and Obit (2017) and The Spectacle of Let - the Soul of a Miracle (2018).

Scope and Content

This collection is comprised mostly of political files and campaign materials along with print media coverage of Zamarripa's activities as GA State Senator. Zamarripa was particularly active in encourage business investment and development in Atlanta and Georgia. Media coverage is particularly heavy in business journals such as Georgia Trend and Atlanta Spanish-language dailies like Mundo Hispanico. The collection also includes manuscript and pre-publication versions of his two novels.

Organization and Arrangement

The files in boxes 1 and 2 are arranged alphabetically. The materials in boxes 3-5 reflect their contextual arrangement at the time of donation to the Russell Library.
