Abstract: Cheri Mitchell is a self-advocate and grassroots activitist in the community of people with disabilities in Georgia. Her collection documents her self-advocacy work, especially her work in Atlanta with her husband, Sam Mitchell, and her work with People First of Georgia.

Biographical Note

Cheri Mitchell is a self-advocate and grassroots activitist with a long history of working on behalf of people with disabilities in Georgia. She has worked extensively with the Georgia Advocacy Office and is a past president of People First of Georgia.

Scope and Content

This collection contains documents, clippings, photographs, and promotional material covering the self-advocacy community in Georgia. Especially the donor's work as a self-advocate in Atlanta with her husband, fellow advocate Sam Mitchell, and her work with People First of Georgia.
