Robert F. Wood was from Athens, Georgia and was a candidate for governor of Georgia in 1938. He opposed E. D. Rivers.

The collection consists of a five-page mimeographed speech presented by candidate for governor of Georgia, Robert F. Wood, to an audience in McDonough, Georgia on 25 June 1938. The speech includes Wood's slogan, "Get Out of the Woods with Wood" and outlines his platform, which opposes taxes imposed by President Roosevelt and proposed by Wood's opponent, E. D. Rivers who won the election.
