Abstract: This collection documents the public activities of Christine D. Lambert, wife of E. Roy Lambert, former senator and legislator of Georgia. This collection includes various records which recognize the activities and accomplishments of Christine Lambert such as: certificates of achievement and recognition, clippings from The Morgan County Citizen, and photographs of Christine and Roy Lambert at various events with different politicians from Georgia.

Collection Description

Historical Note

Christine Davis Lambert is a graduate of Georgia State and has been involved as a board member and chairman of several organizations including the Madison-Morgan County Chamber of Commerce Foundation, The Georgia Historical Society, The State Botanical Garden of Georgia, The National Trust for Historic Preservation, The Georgia Trust for Historic Preservation, Morgan County Historical Society, Magnolia Garden Club, and the Colonial Dames of America in the State of Georgia. Lambert was married to E. Roy Lambert from 1954 until his death in 2008. E. Roy Lambert was senator for Georgia from 1955 to 1956 and again in 1961 to 1962. He was a member of the Georgia House of Representatives until retiring from politics in 1985 to become president of the Bank of Madison and was senior partner of Lambert, Reitman, and Abney, LLC.

Scope and Content

This collection is comprised of various records such as letters and certificates recognizing the activities and accomplishments of Christine Lambert as a private citizen of Madison, Georgia and member of several cultural heritage foundations. This collection also includes clippings from The Morgan County Citizen in particular detailing the Bicentennial celebration for Madison, Georgia which Lambert was actively involved with. Also included in this collection are photographs of Christine and Roy Lambert at various events and with different politicians from Georgia.
