The collection consists of the papers of Edward Stevens Henry from 1858-1921. The papers include correspondence (1886-1921), account books (1858-1862), letter books (1898-1904), and a scrapbook of newsclippings (1900-1901). The correspondence and letterbooks document Henry's service as a Connecticut legislator, State Treasurer, Mayor of Rockville, and as a U.S. Congressman. Includes correspondence with constituents, fellow legislators, and government departments. The account books, probably from Henry's dry-goods business in Rockville (Conn.), include name of customer, list of items purchased, and price.
