Forrest Lee Ramser (1925-2010) was the co-founder of Chore-Time Equipment Company of Alliance, Ohio, a manufacturer of livestock feeding equipment chiefly for poultry and pigs. Chore-Time developed worldwide markets for its equipment building plants, and became Chore-Time Brock after merging with Brock Inc., later shortened to CTB. Mr. Ramser broke into European markets by starting Chore-Time NV in Maldegem, Belgium, then acquired Stevens Injection Molding Company as well as other adjacent industries in Belgium and folded those into the Roxell Corporation. He also helped establish Selected Trees Incorporated, a landscape industry business.
Mr. Ramser was the chief financial planner and developer for the Jennings Mill Country Club Development in Athens, Georgia, and has served on the Boards of Directors of Trust Company Bank of N.E. Georgia; Blue Cross-Blue Shield of Columbus, Georgia; Chick Master Incubator Company, Medina, Ohio; Highlands Golf Limited, Highlands, North Carolina; Salvation Army Advisory Board, Athens, Georgia; and Hope Haven School for Mentally Retarded, Athens, Georgia. He was a member of the Board of Trustees for the Atlanta Christian College of East Point, Georgia. Mr. Ramser was the recipient of the Salvation Army's "Others" award.
This collection contains business records regarding Unico, Chore-Time, CTB, Chore-Time N.V., other Chore-Time corporate acquisitions, and Roxell. Included are minutes, company histories, financial reports, company branded ephemera, sample feeders and waterers, and photographs of employees, facilities, and events. It also includes records, correspondence, records of Mr. Ramser's metalworking, family scrapbooks and photo albums of Forrest and Helen Ramser's schooling and personal life. The history of the of Jennings Mill Country Club Development are also included.
