Bruce Rado cofounded ERDAS, Inc. in 1978 with Lawrie Jordan, and as Vice President, led their strategic planning, marketing, corporate direction, customer care, future products and the company's financial oversight. ERDAS was an Atlanta-based, international company, whose acronym stands for Earth Resource Data Analysis Systems, often referred to as GIS (geographical information systems). ERDAS software transforms geospatial data into information useful for decision-making processes across a span of disciplines.
The bulk of this collection contains papers, presentations, and photographs pertaining to the early years of ERDAS Inc. Also included are scholarly and personal papers of cofounder of ERDAS Inc., Bruce Rado. Also included are ERDAS software materials from the 1990's and early 2000's.
