Richard Norman (1891-1960) was an American silent filmmaker known for his "race films", which were productions with an all black cast and crew in, at the time, traditionally white roles. His most famous films include The Green Eyed Monster (1919), Regeneration (1923), the Flying Ace (1926), and Black Gold (1928).
Collection includes a promotional flyer for The Green Eyed Monster (1919) and handbills for The Crimson Skull (1922) and Regeneration (1923). Also included is a promotional film poster by Norman Studios for Black Gold (1928), which would have been sent to prospective theaters. The flyer, handbills, and promotional poster all include film descriptions, photographs, and cast lists. In addition, the promotional poster includes a letter by Richard Norman endorsing the film, and smaller advertisements for several of Norman's other productions.
