Scope and Content
Collection consists mostly of correspondence between B.W. Hargrave and B.F. Johnson Publishing Company between 1899-1906 regarding the posthumous publication of the book "Wallannah: A Colonial Romance" by Will Loftin Hargrave. First folder includes correspondence between 1899-1900, two copies of the publication contract, and a letter from B.W. Hargrave's mother concerning the title of the book. Second folder includes correspondence between 1901-1906, including a letter from Henry Groves Connor, a lawyer and United States federal judge, and a letter from Marshall DeLancey Haywood, a historian and author from Raleigh, North Carolina. Includes an original copy of the book.
