Terry Southern (1924-1995) was an American novelist, essayist, screenwriter, and lecturer. He is noted for his dark, gritty and satirical style. Southern wrote for films such as Dr. Strangelove, Casino Royale, and Easy Rider, as well as Saturday Night Live. His efforts shaped the genre of dark comedy and helped raise the stature of the American independant movie industry.
Harry Crews (1935-2012) was an American novelist, playwright, short story writer and essayist.
