From the 1800s to 1911, the Qing Dynasty controlled Mongolia. The country was divided into feudal and ecclesiastical fiefdoms. These fiefdoms' leaders increasingly became less interested in the people and more in their own wealth. As more Chinese trade flushed the country, and taxes switched from animals to silver, the general population sank into poverty.
Not much is known about this manuscript. It appears to be a printed manuscript, as opposed to handwritten. It appears to be from the 19th century, evident by its condition and characters. It has not been translated; the actual text and subject is unknown. The manuscript consists of 100-120 leaves held between two wooden boards.
