The Emergency Committee of Atomic Scientists (ECAS) was founded by Albert Einstein and Leó Szilárd in 1946.
A form letter written by Albert Einstein while he was chairman of the Emergency Committee of Atomic Scientists. The letter is dated 15 February, 1947, and is a request for funds and help "to carry to our fellow citizens an understanding of the simple facts of atomic energy and its implications for society."
