The collection consists of a letter from Lachlan McIntosh, Darien, Georgia to his son Jack McIntosh in Jamaica giving news of the McIntosh family in detail, expresses concern over Jack's welfare, and gives advice on how Jack should conduct himself. Also includes an engraved portrait of Lachlan McIntosh by Hoppner Meyer.
