Collection Description

Scope and Content

The collection consists of pins, medals, v-mail, photographs, and photocopies of newspaper clippings from World War II. V-mail contains notes and drawings, and is from Lt. Savo Vukomanovkh to Mrs. Vira Wise of Huntsville, Alabama next hit, and Paul Gentile to Mary Alice Wise of New York. Captioned photographs depict military personnel and aircrafts, at work and at ease. Newspaper clippings (photocopies) concern West Point graduates, the Citizen Army 'Core and West Point, and West Point graduates entering the Army on D-Day. Some miscellaneous items include a war ration book of Mary Alyce Wise, four twenty-five cent War Savings Stamps belonging to Diana Lynn Matthews, a printed prayer by Pvt. Michael S. Morton, and a Presentation of Wings program held at Battle Monument, United States Military Academy, West Point, New York.
