The State Normal School for women opened in 1891 in a university-owned building and later moved to its own campus in the section of Athens now known as Normaltown. for more information see the article State Normal School in the New Georgia Encyclopedia.
The collection consists of two items: a photo album containing photographs of students and faculty from the State Normal School (circa 1922), as well as the printed book History of the State Normal School, written by E. S. Sell, c1923.
