Abstract: The collection consists of scrapbooks of the Ellen A. Crawford Chapter (Athens, Ga.) of the Children of the Confederacy from 1934-1943. The scrapbooks contain newspaper clippings, brochures, programs, and memorabilia relating to the activities of the organization and the Civil War. |
The Ellen A. Crawford chapter is a branch of the Children of Confederacy located in Athens, Georgia. It was present and active in the late 19th century and early 20th century. The Children of the Confederacy was and is a youth organization consisting of descendants of men or women who honorably served in the Confederacy or materially aided the South during the Civil War. The Children of the Confederacy is sponsored and supported by the United Daughters of the Confederacy.
