J. C. Hardie was a schoolteacher in Athens, Lithonia, Riddleville, Polksville, and Bartow communities in the 1870s and 1880s.
The collection consists of correspondence, receipts, educational advertisements, and teaching notes of J. C. Hardie. Correspondences are general and refer to family matters and Hardie's education endeavors. Other items included in the collection are death notices from Rule Lodge, no. 211, and a letters patent.
