Collection Description

Scope and Content

A volume of pasted clippings on Georgia, Alabama next hit, South Carolina, and national history. It includes some of the sketches of Athens, 1865-1875, which were printed in the local paper by A. L. Hill, who later published them as Annals of Athens. There are other articles, some by George G. Smith on early Georgia history, much about the Revolution and national history, includes a list of prisoners kept in Fort at St. Augustine by British in 1780, rolls of soldiers, 1775, from South Carolina, and some articles concerning early Baptists.
