The first building to serve as a student center for the Georgia Baptist Student Union at the University of Georgia was the Walter Wise Student Center. It was built in 1945 and located on Lumpkin Street in Athens. The building was demolished and a second Baptist Student Center opened on September 25, 1966.
The Baptist Student Union (BSU) was renamed the Baptist Collegiate Ministry (BCM).
The collection contains Baptist Student meeting papers of the Baptist Student Union, blueprints of both Baptist student centers, and artists' renderings of the center built in 1966.
