Scope and Content
The Documenting Congress Oral History Project seeks to capture and provide access to the memories and insights of the archivists, librarians, historians, and political scientists who have labored to preserve the history of the United States Congress—especially the papers of Senators, Representatives, and congressional committees.
Major elements of this collection include the work of the House and Senate Historical Offices, the origins and evolution of the Society of American Archivists' Congressional Papers Roundtable, creation of the Advisory Committee on the Records of Congress as well as the Association of Centers for the Study of Congress, and efforts to process, open, and utilize major congressional collections.
