The Georgia Cattlemen's Association (GCA) was founded in 1961 to represent cattle producers throughout the state of Georgia. The GCA has lobbied on behalf of its membership to influence legislation and agricultural regulations, management of natural resources, animal health and well-being, and the rights of landowners.
This collections consists mainly of photographs taken for the Georgia Cattleman magazine, particularly photographs of competitions throughout the southeastern United States and other subjects related to cattle ranching. It also includes articles covering the introduction of artificial insemination processes for cattle and farm exports to the Soviet Union.
This collection retains the arrangement established by the donor.
