The materials consist of personal correspondence, telegrams, cards, photographs and souvenirs of Ruby Webb, secretary to Downing Musgrove, the Executive Secretary to Georgia Governor E. D. (Eurith Dickinson) Rivers, and cover the years 1936 to 1941. Most materials relate to her job with the Rivers administration but a few pamphlets, newspaper clippings, etc. do reflect the administration's activities, such as "Georgia Cares Now" and the Final Message to the Georgia General Assembly, 1941.
Miss Webb's twin sister, Ruth Webb; the Governor's personal secretary Gertrude Liles; and Marvin Griffin, Executive Secretary following Musgrove, are also mentioned. An Executive Order of 28 July 1939 states that Miss Liles was moved to secretary to the Executive Secretary (Miss Webb's position), while Miss Webb was moved to secretary to the Director of Division of Wild Life, Department of Natural Resources, due to a state efficiency program. One miscellaneous item, "Bainbridge , Georgia" is a pictorial record of businesses in that area during this time.
The collection consists of materials gathered by Ruby Webb while working on the staff of Georgia Governor E. D. Rivers from 1936 to 1941. It includes Webb's personal correspondence, telegrams, cards, photographs, and souvenirs as well as pamphlets and clippings reflecting the Rivers administration. The records also include a pictorial record of businesses in Bainbridge, Georgia.
The collection is organized in three series: I. Webb Material, II. Rivers Material, and III. Miscellaneous and Undated Material. Photographs were separated from the collection for preservation.
