Collection Description

Biography

Harriette Brumby Russell was born May 16, 1899, the fifth child of Richard Brevard and Ina Dillard Russell. She attended Georgia State College for Women (now Georgia College) in Milledgeville and graduated in 1921. She married Samuel Ralph Sharpton on October 5, 1927. She died January 20, 1959 at the age of 59.

Scope and Content

This collection consists of correspondence between Harriette Russell Sharpton and her friends and family; printed materials from the Department of Agriculture and mementos kepts by Russell Sharpton; and diaries, personal files, photographs, and academic materials from Russell Sharpton's time at the Georgia State Women's College in Milledgeville, Georgia.
