Collection DescriptionScope and ContentThis collection consists of a group of various colonial, state and municipal legal documents from the 1600s-1900s, copied by the Historical Records Survey of Georgia in 1941 as part of the Works Progress Administration. The documents focus on Georgia state and colonial laws as municipal government in various parts of the state. There is also a listing of some vital statistics which consist of a list of books, not the actual vital statistic. Organization and ArrangementArranged into three series: Series 1. Georgia Laws- General, further subdivided into subseries for State and Colonial Laws; Series 2. Municipalities: Municipal Government, General, Transcriptions; and Series 3. Vital Statistics: Counties. Each series or subseries is arranged alphabetically within its grouping.
