Collection DescriptionHistorical NoteSelene Armstrong Harmon was born in 1883 and died in 1932. She was a feature writer for the Washington Times, and later was a freelance writer for magazines and newspapers. She was born in Wilkes County, Georgia. Scope and ContentThe collection consists of papers of Selene Armstrong Harmon from circa 1898-1926 Including correspondence (1909-1914); manuscripts of writings; loose clippings of her works in various newspapers; a scrapbook containing newsclippings of her series "Women Worth While" on wives of politicians and diplomats in Washington, D.C. during the Taft and Wilson administrations; and clippings relating to the "St. Nicholas Girl", a program sponsored by the Washington Times in 1910 featuring Miss Armstrong who collected and distributed toys for poor children.
