Collection DescriptionHistorical NoteJames Baird Tipton (1915-1995) was born in Senath, Missouri and attended the University of Alabama on a football scholarship, graduating in 1938. He was a fighter pilot and commander during World War II and the Korean War and rose to the rank of Major General over a long career in the US (Army) Air Force. Ann Livingston Little (1914-2004) was born in Rochester, New York and served in the Red Cross during World War II, where she met then Colonel James Tipton. They were married in 1945 and had 2 children, Catharine and Alice. Scope and ContentThis collection contains family records, correspondence and photographs, scrapbooks, diaries and memoirs from the Tipton and Little familes, as well as military yearbooks, photographs and records of James Tipton.
