Collection DescriptionHistorical NoteReverend Samuel Alexander Tinkler (1891-1959) graduated from Erskine College in 1912. Following graduation he worked as teacher for a couple of years before serving in France during World War I (1914-1918). Following his return to the United States he completed his work at the Erskine Seminary in 1920 and was licensed and ordained by Second Presbytery the same year. He then served as church pastorate in Lake Wales, FL, Atlanta, GA, York, PA, and finally Greenwood, S.C. in 1947. Scope and ContentCollection includes typed sermons by Reverend Samuel Alexander Tinkler (1891-1959) which run from 1906 to 1959. When possible sermons have been sorted by topic and date. Also included is sermon notecards, handwritten notes, Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church of Greenwood, South Carolina service programs, flyers, and photographs as well as a church attendance booklet, WRCS morning devotion schedules, church stationary, church mailers, and associated printed material.
