Collection DescriptionHistorical NoteThomas E. "Tom" Strickland (1928-2017) was a graduate of the University of Georgia. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and in the Marine Corps Reserves. We worked for Bell South Telephone Comopany, retiring in 1987. He was active in many community and charity organizations, including the Boy Scouts of America, the Athens Chamber of Commerce, the University of Georgia Alumni Association, and the Rotary Club of Athens. Scope and ContentThis collection contains photographs, correspondence, memos and printed material doocumenting Mr. Strickland's involvement in Southern Bell Telephone Company and various civic organizations and charities he supported.
