Scope and Content

The collection consists of papers, photographs, bags, sweatshirts, t-shirts, and historical documentation of the Prater's Mill Foundation, mostly concerning the foundation's involvement with the Library of Congress Local Legacies project, from the 1950s-2000. T-shirts and sweatshirts contain designs advertising Prater's Mill Country Fair. Paper and cloth bags are for grain, grits, corn meal, and flour manufactured by Prater's Mill (Dalton, Ga.), Prater's Mill (Varnell, Ga.), and Whitfield County Milling Company (Dalton, Ga.).
