Collection DescriptionHistorical NoteWilliam H. Bonner (1831-1917) enlisted in Company I, Georgia 49th Infantry Regiment, Confederate Army, in 1862, and was eventually discharged for disability. Scope and ContentThe collection consists of one handwritten letter: dated near Calhoun, Gordon County, Georgia, May 1, 1873, "Col. Jordan," signed "William B.," regarding the purchase of several enslaved people. The collection also includes a handwritten bill of sale for enslaved people sold to William H. Bonner.
