Collection DescriptionHistorical NoteCalvin W. Jolley (1921-1989) lived in Alabama and entered the Army in January 1943. He was in Co. M, 320th Infantry, 35th Division, U.S. Army and was stationed in England, France, Germany, Belgium and Holland. He returned home on the ship "Queen Mary" in September 1945. Scope and ContentThe collection consists of correspondence, photographs, and printed material. The WWII letters were written by Calvin Jolley to his wife, Yuma Gore Jolley, in Albertville, Alabama. Because of censorship he could not write her any details of combat, but his 2 September 1944 letter mentioned that he had been in four major battles.
