The collection consists of a bond appointing commissioners to layout the city of Augusta (Ga.) on land purchased by the State of Georgia from Thomas Cole dated May 3, 1786. Commissioners appointed include George Walton, William Glascock, Samuel Jack, Abraham Baldwin, and Robert Forsyth.
