Henry Timrod (1828-1867) was an American poet, born in Charleston, South Carolina.

Emily Timrod Goodwin was the sister of Henry Timrod.

Scope and Content

The small collection consists mainly of correspondence between Emily Timrod Goodwin and Paul Hamilton Haynes and his family from 1867-1894. Also included is a photograph of Henry Timrod, undated; a scrapbook containing clippings about Henry Timrod and clippings of Timrod's poetry, 1867-1929; and a publication of Timrod's poetry with two handwritten poems on the final two pages, undated.
