Collection DescriptionHistorical NoteThe University of Georgia School of Art was originally founded in 1925 as part of the State College of Agriculture and officially became part of the University during the reorganization of 1932. By the late 1950s the school had experienced such a surge in growth that it required a new home. In 1962, a new home for the art school that featured a revolutionary design opened its doors and in 1995 was renamed as the Lamar Dodd School of Art. This building served as the main location of the Visual Arts program until 2008 when the program moved into a new building on East Campus.
