Eugenius Aristides Nisbet (1803-1871), lawyer, Georgia House of Representatives (1827-1829), Georgia Senate (1830-1835), U.S. House of Representatives (1837-1841), Georgia Supreme Court (1845-1853), was born in Greene County, Georgia.

Scope and Content

The collection consists of correspondence from Eugenius Aristides Nisbet to his wife, Amanda Battle Nisbet, from 1822-1848. Correspondence mainly concerns family matters, and a few concern state and national political matters. The collection also contains a brief note from Judge Hiram Warner, and newspaper clippings regarding Nisbet's death and other matters.
