Persons Brothers, general store owned by Thomas Henry and Augustus Pou Persons, Talbotton County, Georgia.

Scope and Content

The collection consists of account books of the Persons Brothers general store in Talbotton, Georgia from 1886-1933 (with some gaps). Includes account ledgers and cash books which document the sale of dry goods, clothing, hardware, and wagons. The collection also includes two account books of the Talbotton Railroad Company, owned and operated by the Persons family, which ran from Talbotton to Paschal. The account books document income and expenses of the railroad from 1881-1887 and 1909-1912.
