Historical Note

Nicholson, Reeves & Wynn, a hardware store in Athens, Clarke County, Georgia. The name was changed to Childs, Nickerson & Co. around 1865. Partners in the company included Asaph King Childs, Rufus Reeves, and Reuben Nickerson.

Scope and Content

The collection consists of records of Childs, Nickerson & Co. and its predecessor, Nicholson, Reeves & Wynn (Athens, Ga.) from 1861-1887. Primarily composed of correspondence and invoices for Nicholson, Reeves & Wynn (1861) and Childs, Nickerson & Co. (1866-1877), relating to the buying and selling of hardware goods.
