Scope and Content

The collection consists of one letter: dated Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, October 10, 1864, to "My dearest wife" [Sallie], concerning yellow fever in Charleston, South Carolina, the deaths of "Lieutenant Jones Jackson and old man Roberson", and the possibility of Sallie coming for a visit. Also included is a transcript of the handwritten letter, and reproduction of a small printed map of the Andersonville, Georgia Prison (undated).
