Historical Note

Julian Eltinge was an American stage and film actor best known as an early drag performer (female impersonator), first debuting in this role on Broadway in 1904. Eltinge would later expand his career from performing in Vaudeville and musical comedies to starring roles in Hollywood feature films, broadening his audience and influence.
