Collection Description

Historical Note

Harry Crews (1935-2012) was a prolific novelist, born in Bacon County, Georgia. His often freakish characters populate a strange, violent, and darkly humorous South. Crews focused much of his work on the poor white South, influencing a growing number of younger writers to do the same.
