Collection Description

Historical Note

Equitable Securities, originally called Equitable Loan Company, held its first meeting of stockholders on May 12, 1927. The first president was O.R. Dobbs. Later in the 1900s, R.P. Dobbs and Morgan R. "Bucky" Redwine, Jr. held leadership positions within the company. Equitable Securities was dissolved in 2001.

Scope and Content

The collection consists of records from the company Equitable Securities based in Athens, Georgia including a minute book begun in 1927 as well as records that document the company history to its dissolution in 2001.
