He was Professor of Military Science at the University of Mississippi and Texas A&M during his active military career.

He became a teacher in the Oxford, Mississipi School system upon completion of his military career. He retired from teaching in 1990. He was a member of Toccoa Presbyterian Church, West Point Leadership Council, National Education Association, and the Mississippi Education Association.

Scope and Content

The collection consists of one bound volume of the genealogy of David Jarrett Chandler, apparently compiled in the late 1960s or early 1970s. The genealogy covers both Chandler's paternal and maternal (Ramsay) lineage. Chandler's most frequently cited source is a conversation with his mother in 1969.
