This diary lists the daily life of Walter McWilliams. It covers his daily routine in detail, such as getting up, eating breakfast, feeding his canary Sweety, cutting woods, playing the organ and guitar, going to the plantation, planting fruit trees, visiting friends, buying newspapers, going to church. He often mentions his mother's drinking problem and is also greatly preoccupied with his love for his girlfriend, later his wife, Lula (Luella).
