Historical Note

Virgil Perry (1828-1907) served in the Havis Battery, Georgia Artillery, Confederate Army, during the Civil War. He was married to Caroline Perry (1824-1896).

Scope and Content

This collection consists of correspondence, receipts, and clippings from Virgil Perry and his family. The correspondence is from Virgil Perry to his wife during his time as a soldier in the Civil War, and are from Georgia and Tennessee and include post-Civil War letters from Athens and Atlanta.
